Default Range report

Today I shot the Traditions Smackdown 250gr SST's out of the Pro Hunter with .50 Bergara barrel. Temp was in the low 70's with a slight breeze. I started off using the supplied 3 petal yellow sabot with Fiocchi primers and quickly found them shooting all over a 6" shoot and see target. I then switched to Rem STS primers and MMP HPH 24 sabots and found them to shoot acceptably accurate. I was getting a little more blowback with the Rem STS's so I threw a metric O-ring in the primer pocket and fired the last 3 shot group and did a scope adjustment for the final shot. I was out of Harvester smooth sabots or they would have been my go to instead of the MMP's. The HPH 24's loaded with just a little more resistance then the supplied MMP 3 petal sabots.

100gr BH209 Rem STS primer, 100yds

100gr BH209 Rem STS primer w/metric o ring. 3 shot group high, scope adjustemment for 4th shot. 100yds

That's really stacking them in there Omega. I'll bet that last shot made you smile.

Oh ya! right - 100 yard acceptable... Which one of those shots would have hit a ground squirrel @ 100?

I knida thought those 3p-Ez-loads would be to loose in your bores...

Nice shooten...

I do not really think they were too loose. I have been shooting my other Pro Hunter with the laminated TH stock and shooting my reguler stock old Pro Hunter just does not feel right anymore. The last group the first 2 were side by side then the 3rd off to the right, probably me? When I adjusted the scope for the 4th shot I went two clicks right and 4 clicks down wanting to be about 1" high. Guess my right-left turret is fine but up-down turrett may be a bit off?

Shooting a ground squirrel...................last year a ground hog walked out at about 80yds on the range and an older gentleman yelled do not shoot it, you'll get us all kicked out of here. Heck I did not even see it till after he yelled.
