Default 45-70 bullets/Harvester sabot

anyone else shooting 45-70 bullets.....I bought a 50 cal miniball mold from ebay and after pouring a few thought there too small and after running the lee mold numbers I found out the person sold me the wrong mold,,,, the bullets are 405grans and .459 I got the Harvester crush rib sabots and they shoot great out of my black diamond inline I'm useing 150 grans of powder thank god the deer are smarter than me, I'm sure this load is way overkill for what I need. I like the thumpanyone else shooting 45-70 bullets..2 inch groups at 50 yards haven't tryed them farther, mold cost me 15 bucks shipped...a botched buy ended up working out for me...

I cast a .458 LEE 405 grain flat nose bullet also. When I cast them they weigh 423 grains. I shoot them out of an orange Knight sabot. I shoot them in my inline rifles and they are very accurate. Remington makes the same bullet commercially with a copper coating. I have shot those as well, but they are never in stock.

I also take that .458 Lee 405 grain and size them down to .451 and shoot them in my White M97 .451 caliber. Very accurate.

I've recently been shooting the Rem. 300 gr SJHP for 45-70. I've gotten the best accuracy with 100gr BH209 and the Harvester crush rib sabot. Also good accuracy with 50 gr 3F, T7 with the orange .458 sabots. A good mild load for off hand practice.

These are out of my Triumph

I have used the Nosler Partition 45-70 bullet in the past in the mmp orange sabot. It is a killer but is a little over a buck apiece.
