Default Well now, this sucks

Here it is, Sunday afternoon. The weather is gorgeous. The wife left yesterday for florida to take care of our daughter. And I'm sitting here with a sprained lower back. Can hardly walk. I want to go out shooting sooooo bad.
The pain killers and muscle spasm pills aren't working too good. Just have to alternate between the heating pad and an ice pack.
And what's really bad is I can't eve reach up to pull a ML off the rack to fondle it. I hope it gets better soon. I want to take the grandson out for turkey in 2 weeks.

.... I feel for ya. Mine acts up for no good reason sometimes. Just the slightest twist or overreach can cause it, but not all the time. Backs and spines can sure cause grief. Hope yours straightens out soon....

Did you say turkeys?????????????? I heard em sounding off this morning at 6:20am while I was standing on the front porch. Never heard turkeys around my house nor saw any for the 9yrs I have lived here. Might have to go investigate further.....

That sucks, I through my back out several years ago when I was in New Jersey, my team partner had to drive all the way back to Chicago, then on to Wisconsin. Got to say its nice to have a good partner.

I'm not having fun either.

I went in Mon to have an operation on my right eye. (3rd time), and to have some skin cancer removed from my left cheek.

They took a piece of skin from my right ear and sewed it onto the right eyeball. Hopefully that will seal the eye closed now. Just sewing the eye together hasn't been working.

That was the easy part. I went to another doctor for the melanoma on my left cheek. The used the slow mohs method. They cut off a slice, and send it to the lab to see if they got it all. Then after seeing the results the next day they know if they need to take more off. The did that for three days for me. That was the easy part. I had about a 2" square chunk missing. The problen if was right under my eye. The only eye I can see out of. The doctor was worried about a graft over the missing chunk would pull the lower eye lid down when it healed. So, he got creative. My bad luck. He made a cut starting at my left temple across my lower eye lid, up to the corner of my eye, all way down the side of my nose to below my mouth. Then he grabbed the skin from my chin area and pulled it to my eye and sewed it.

I look like I lost a fight with a bear. I must have 50 stitches. Maybe more. It's hard to look at myself long enough to count them. The worse part is my eye. Even though it was supposed to preven my lower eye lid from pulling down. My eye lid is pulled down. My eye lids and my eye itself it bright red and swollen. My vision it very blurry. It's fun trying to type this, but i'm bored of sitting around.

I went to Colorado Springs alone to have this done. So, I had to stay awake for all this. So I was injected with a ton on lidecane. The side effect is it burns out the nerve ends. It must have hit my tooth nerves, because it feels like I have 5 toothaches.

I know exactly how you feel and ive been forced to avoid the range on days i either hurt too much or had to take meds for pain. Im almost completely off of mine but there are still days i have to take them after a long ride or AFTER a long range day.

Ive seen three "Docs" for different opinions and all have said all we can do is help control the pain. At my age surgery only has a 40% success rate and a 100% chance of being off work for over a month. Plus wearing a brace even longer.

No thanks!!!!!...i will deal with it and take the minimum needed just to get by. Ive already got another "safer addiction" and i don't need or want another.

I sure hope you get it taken care of so you can take the grandkid hunting. That would be my dream hunt. My daughter got married last year, I may have to call her to get the show on the road. Take care

At your age Bronko you're supposed to have aches and pains. At least that's what my wife tells me when my back or knee acts up. I figure if I have more days feeling good than feeling bad I'm doing OK.

DANG Muley Hunter, sounds like you're on a long uphill hike (on a steep hill at that). Hang in there buddy.

Bronco, take care of your back and get well soon. Give it time and don't over-do it or you will end up back to square-one.

Muley, maybe the "third time is the charm" as far as your eye operations go. I hope they get all your skin cancer, too. That dang skin cancer can be stubborn sometimes. Take care and get well soon.
