Default Wolverine and NE conicals

Went out today with the .50 cal wolverine and No excuse .460 gr conicals. the .503 NE conicals load vary nice in this rifle, they seem to be a good fit.i am still going to slug the bore and order Bullshops at a later date. BS conicals are less expensive.i started out using 70 gr pyrodex after foulng the barrel with 3 caps, first 2 shots at 5 o clock.adjusted the peep sight up and took 3 more shots 3-4 o clock.adjusted the peep to raise POI,increased powder to .75 gr 3 shot(2 touching in red) 3rd below first 2 my error.if i would have did my part that should have been a 3 shot group all touching. rifle has a NECG peep sight mounted on it. took some getting used to. sorry the picture have to be opened, i don't know how to post pictures well. i am also going to give shot cards a try and see if they increase accuracy. overall i think this rifle and bullet combo has the potential to be extremely accurate and it was a lot of fun.Ray http://s133.photobucket.com/albums/q...ginMF1/target/

Ray

When you move the mouse pointer over the picture on Photobucket the 'drop down' menu gives you several different options to post you image...

Like:

Email & IM
Direct Link - which is what you used
HTML code
IMG code - use this code

If you do not see these options let me know and I will walk you through how to change it in your profile on Photobucket...

Is that the big 12" target with 3" orange bulls eye or the smaller 8" target?

that is some good shooting. I will have to try them in my Wolverines next time I shoot. The only difference I will do is use Triple Seven 2f in the rifle. I like that powder when I shoot conicals.

Target was at 50 yds no wad or shot card. i did lightly damp swab once between shots.i am going to try 777 loose after i buy some shot cards. been shooting a scope for so long the peep sight took a little getting used to.accuracy also seemed better with 75 gr pyrodex vs 70.the more i shot the more comfortable i was.next time out i will raise the POI some and then out to 100 yds lol.i will say the NE 460 fit my wolverine bore nicely, i am still going to slug it before i buy more conicals, which will be bullshops. they are a lot cheaper and my understanding is excellent quality also..Ray
