Now that was an interesting test there. I was kind of surprised at the variation of readings when oiled, VS not. I never tried that oil the bore trick but I think just for the heck of it I will give it a shot.
Your other videos are good too. Nice job there.

did that last shot go over 2k fps? and it all seemed very inconsistent?
was he changing powder weights er sumthin?
it seemed the un-oiled one went from 1900..to 1800..then up to 2000+?
what am i missin?

The bullets shot with oiled barrel, were actually consistent. the problem is it looks like more work than just shooting 777 loose with a quick swab. 777 is a better powder.i see no reason to change if one is using 777 lol! ray

The oiled barrel shots were pretty consistent but the non oiled barrel went from 1919 to 1822 and then to 2064.
Its basically, swab the bore with an oil patch, run a couple dry to mop up excess oil, load, fire and do it all over again.
Interesting video Devil, thanks for posting. A few years back I tried oiling the barrel of my Mustang between shots and got the same results - very small spread in velocities. I also got my best groups that way.
I have a suggestion though. The readout unit of your chronograph seems to be taking a pretty good beating by bouncing around when you shoot. Can't be good for the circuitry. You might want to set it on something other than the shooting bench.

the plastic hood is very flimsy and always shakes like that when i shoot. Its a heavy tri pod set up but the "shadow shade" just slips together onto some pegs. I dont think there is anything i can do to keep that area from shaking like that.
I was referring to the unit on the bench next to the gun.
