Made this one today thinking it might help my iron sight shooting using a 6 o'clock hold on the bottom point.

I like that target Semi! I have always used a round black dot and used the 6 o'clock hold on the bottom of the circle. This might work a little better.

Now that we have switched to daylight savings time, it is too dark to see the sights at 6:00. Do you have anything that would work later?
Well Ron, since you went and pointed out only real problem of the 6 o'clock hold, I feel compelled to reveal my secret. I set my watch to 1 p.m before going to the range or beginning a hunt, thereby avoiding the problem of which you speak.

For me it would depend on the distance you are shooting, and the type of front sight that you have.
Personally I think you would have to focus way too much on that target at 100 yards. It would be difficult to see. Especially if shoting a squared off front sight.
Personally I like the color diference. But then I focus more on the front sight, and much less on the target.
I like a yellow paper with a black round dot. At 100 yards I like a 3" or a 4" dot. For a round front bead I like a 3" or 4" square that is fully blackened. These two targets tend to stand out the best for me, without putting too much focus on the actual target itself. Tom.
