they are basically a barnes bullet but in full bore. No elk stands a chance. We got one deer with it and the damage it did was amazing. No elk yet, this year maybe?

Whats the difference between the Thors and FPB. I know Hornady makes FPB and Barnes makes thor. MD have you compared the two? I know Thors all over your site but I hope you can be honest.

Thor/Barnes is all copper.

The FTB is coated lead.

Muley answered it perfectly.

When you hit heavy bone, they still come out looking pretty.

Huge entrance holes as well. But i only have one deer to go by.

They both cost me $20 per 15 but the Thor's ive had much better luck with.

Now will they fit your bore? Thats where it can get tricky and will need to request the free sizing sample.

Correct on the Thor, but the FPB is coated lead ALLOY. Not pure lead, but an alloy that is harder than pure lead. I have shot two 350 FPBs at elk and gotten two dead elk. The bullet did great! Yes, the Thor is the tougher of the two and I may carry one next time I hunt elk (like next fall), but the FPB is tough enough! Cheaper and sold more places too.

Which is the better bullet? The Thor/Barnes hands down. do a web search on Barnes and FPB terminal performance and it becomes evident real quickly.. Ray

Not all of us believe that, I prefer the FPB it shoots much more accurately for me in my guns.

Better is a subjective term. I think there is no doubt that it is a tougher bullet, but last year I had to make a choice between the FPB that gave me a 3-4 inch group at 100 yards and the thor that gave me 4-6 inch groups (open sights). I chose the FPB and never looked back because I know about the terminal performance first hand.

That said, I will be trying the new 300 gr ballistic tip thors and if the accuracy is good, I will probably be shooting them this fall. But if the FPB is consistently more accurate, the FPB may get the nod again. I may bring out the renegade for this years hunt. Interested to see how both bullets shoot from that gun.
