Default testing day, 45cal conical and if my 50cal hawken was fixed

all shoot made at the 25yrds range.
cva 50cal hawken
490 ww rb
duck .017" patch an lard/t1000 50/50 mix lube

been having problems with the hammer not wanting to stay ****ed. worked for a few days. thought I had it fixed. so I took it to the range. got to the range, started doing it again. adjusted the set trigger. 10 shots later. still shooting but could not nothing, so some sight work is need but the it is fixed.

Win. 45cal apex
80grs APP 3f
bullets:
252 260gr range lead
45cal lee improved minie range lead
45cal 250gr LEE real pure lead

started out with my last hunting seasons load to checked the sight. 75grs of bh209, 275gr hp powerbelt. 3 hang fires out of 5 shots. guess carbine build up.

the goal of the days was to see how the bullets loaded. could of done this at home with the breechplug out. but where is the fun in that.

252 260gr range lead, I need to hammer them down the barrel. and did not shoot well at all.

lee improved minies, loaded fairly easy, did not shot worth an damn that charge. give it an try with another type powder and charge level

250gr lee real. the gun loved them. load well, shot pop to get them started. one long stroke to ram the home

only 3 sets of 3 for each for the first part of the test.

then i shot 7 lee reals, off bags only 25yrds.

Corey, with your Blackhorn/Powerbelt hunting load, have you gotten hangfires with that load before?

first time in about 25 to 30 times shooting that combo.

when i finish off this bottle of blackhorn that will be it. maybe switching to all real black with an place a few hours from home that carries it at an good price.
