Talking New Scope Mounted

I thought I would post this photo of my Hawkin Carbine with the new scope. It is a 3x Leatherwood:

I am having some problems sighting it in. I have got to get the rear sight ring base shimmed up some. It is shooting way too low. Aside from that, it is great having the scope and seeing what I am aiming at for a change.

that is pretty cool... it will be interesting to see how it shoots once you have it all tuned. Nice job.

Cool. The scope sort of reminds me of the Clint Eastwood movie Outlaw Josey Wales.

"We got somethin' in this territory called the Missouri boat ride"

But I think he was using a Sharps.

That's a neat looking setup rafsob. What kind of eye relief does that scope have? How many holes did you have to drill & tap for the mounts? It sure would look fine on the long 33" barrel of my .58 Hawken.

Hey BP, how's it going pal. Take a visit over to this site:

http://www.leatherwoodoptics.com/ind...d=37&Itemid=37

The scopes they put out come in three lengths, 17", 18" and 32". 17" is the one I have in 3x. The 18" comes in 6x. I figure I was going to be hunting in the think woods of Virginia and 3x would be just fine. Most of the scopes I use for hunting are in 2.5x.

I have another Malcolm style scope that was made by Tasco years ago and is all brass. I will be putting it on my H&R 1871 rifle. I will post that one when it is done.

It wasn't bad at all. The bases need two holes each, front and back. The eye relief is 4" for the smaller scopes and 4.5" I think for the 32".

Check out the website I posted for BP. The 32", with an extention would fine. Also check out these prices:

This the best price I could find:

http://swfa.com/Leatherwood-6x16-Wm-...ope-P9012.aspx
Now this H&R 1871 looks good, don't it?

To give you an idea of the prices, check out opticsplanet:
