Default Lehigh Conversion help

I think I have one of the Knight MHC where the BP won't fit. It will only screw down into the barrel a turn or two. Has anyone else had this problem or am I just the luck one?

It sounds like the breechplug threads and/or barrel threads are the issue. I have not heard of the problem you are experiencing. The issue that others have experineced is with the Primer Adapter fitting into the Bolt. Look at the threads on the breechplug to make sure there are no burrs and/or damaged threads. Does the standard Knight breechplug assemble correctly?

I agree with what you are saying. The Knight BP fits perfectly. The Lehigh just will not screw down into the barrel. I have checked the threads and everything seems perfect. The adapter fits on the bolt face like a glove, no issues at all there.

Are you using a socket, 1/4"x 7/16" deep socket, to put it on with. The Knight tool will not work most of the time.

Just a guess...

If you have another Knight, does the troublesome BP fit in it?

The Knight tool needs to be modified by drilling the hole in the end of the tool below the hex deeper for clearance. The 1/4" drive 7/16" socket works fine also like Sabotloader recommended.

A deep well socket solved a similar issue i had with my first Lehigh NFPJ. Since then its been smooth sailing in every DISC based Knight ive tried. Several are on the "may not fit" list also.

I got it fixed with a deeper well socket. I guess I just could not get enough on it to turn it and then got a deep well and it works great. Got to finally shoot the new MHC I had bought a few weeks back and I didn't want to shoot it until I got the conversion in it. Boy what a joy it was today. I will not have any problems putting a few pigs on the ground out to 200 yards with this gun in a couple of weeks on my Texas hunting trip. I am pumped.

Sabot, after I got it shooting pretty good at 120 yards yesterday and playing with loads, I'm planning on right now shooting 100 grains of BH 209 and a 290 grain TMZ. I'm thinking of ordering some Lehighs but I'm not sure of which bullet yet. I really like the 285-290 grain bullet for the energy they carry at greater distances. I believe and I may be wrong but the 250 grain Lehigh is about as close to that weight as I can get. What bullet do you recommend that would give me energy that these bullets give me at the 200 yard mark?
