OK, I've got the MZ bug and have two in-lines. One 50 Cal Omega Z5 which I bought a couple of years ago and now a 45 Cal Disc Elite.
I have them both set up and shooting pretty well. Actually, the Omega will shoot 1 MOA and has taken two nice bucks. The Elite is on it's way.
I stopped by a pawn shop the other day and they have a Cabelas ( Lyman ) 50 sidelock which looks like new. It does have one spot of rust about the size of a grain of rice an inch forward from the hammer but that's it... no other blemishes.
They want $175 for it which I think is a pretty good deal but I know nothing about shooting PRB's or whatever else you'd stick down this thing. It looks like you'd need to take the barrel off to clean it.
Knowing that I like to tinker, should I buy this gun or look elsewhere? I was also thinking about an older Knight or whatever I could find a deal on. The other option is to buy nothing and start thinking about the spring crappie bite.
Check the bore with a bore light. If the bore is good, that is a good deal. I would buy it and don't even need another rifle.
