Default Accura, mabye i overlooked it

My buddy asked me to get his new ML setup for him, since he was busy this week and will be able to only shoot one day before the Ohio ML season. Its the original Accura that he bought on clerance from Cabelas for next to nothing with a coupon. Anyhow i mounted his scope and boresighted it and headed to the range. I decided on drive there i would start with 90g BH209, HSB sabot, and a 250g SST. The same load i target shoot in my triumph and encore, i really didnt think it would work but it was my starting point. I shot one time at 50yds. and it was good just low, made one adjustment and next three shots were touching. I then shot three shots at 100, that were just low but all touching, man i was impressed!!! to say the least, I messed around at 100 but it was so cold and windy my groups starting opening up. I figured he can fine tune it himself. This was the easiest ML i have ever shot in. I really could have called it a day after 7 shots. This is my first expirience ever with a CVA and im really impressed. My encore or triumph didnt shoot this good out of the box thats for sure..........

I think all ML'S are different. I think the polished bore is what made that gun shoot that load good right out of the box.

Yep that's what happened to Me, I got My first ACCURA and after shooting it and seeing how Accurate and easy to sight in it was I bought 2 more. And what impressed me the most is it's as accurate at 200yds as it is at 100.
I agree with Grouse45, the Bergara Barrel helped a-lot in how it shot out of the box, and was a excellant addition to the CVA ACCURA and My Deciding reason for purchasing one, then the other 2.
When Cabela's was selling off the final ACCURA's they had and the Cupons and FREE Shipping they offered for them you could have really gotten a Great Deal on one back then, around $250+-, Im sure more People would have been as Pleased if they'd only have given CVA a Chance.
The Original CVA ACCURA V1 is a Heck of a Shooter!

Breechplug: true statement that gun can shoot right out of the box.
I am sorry I did not buy one myself but Son did when it was on sale at the sportsman guide
I also say we have the original cva optima pro mag: beside being a little heavy with the 29" berger barrel here another gun that will tack drive bullets out to 150 yards.
I am going to check later into the year to see if I can purchase a thumb hole stock for the optima
my gave me the optima but there no problem to carry it the Quad does all the work

revpilot,
You got the message! These guns not only shoot but they shoot verrrry well! I'm new (2 years) to the muzzleloading world, but I know good when I see good!!! I have read on this blog where some folks really can't appreciate the CVA workmanship. It always goes back to the barrels that were blowing up. Now I can understand the fear some folks may have especially if they know a person who was injured, however, I can't speak to those days as I have a modern CVA that loves to kill deer. When I tell folks to buy an Accura V1 which is every bit the rifle any other top notch rifle is at half the price, I really mean it! There was no brand loyalty when I bought my CVA Accura V1, but there is now!!!!!

I also agree. My CVA Accura is the best ML I have ever shot. I have had Knights, Traditions and a TC Omega. This Accura will outshoot them all! Actually I just sold the Omega yesterday cause I know I will never use it again. Gonna save a little and get myself an Accura V2.

Very nice shooting. I know nothing about the Accura except for the range and hunting reports I read here. Looks like your friend has a real shooter on his hands.
