Default The guns are cleaned and put away for the season

Well yesterday was the last day of deer season here in VA so today I cleaned my gun and my wifes gun and put them away until range day. My gun has been loaded since the first of November without firing a shot. My wifes gun was fired at a young buck that my wife missed mid-NOvember. All was not lost as I got that same buck the next evening with my 30-06.

I cleaned and loaded her gun up the next day and it has been loaded since. I pulled the breach plugs and pushed the bullets and powder pellets through. The pellets were in near perfect shape and I have no doubt they would have gone bang even after sitting for 2 months. The gun barrels looked great and only took a light cleaning.

Can't wait to get them to the range this spring in preparation for next season. Good luck to any of you that still have season left.

Hey......thats what I did. I did empty mine into soft ground as DNR wants. It was hard to do but it makes me look forward to bringing her out for some range shots. Looking to using T7 and bullet variations. Just looking for a blast.

I always keep one of My MLer's on hand for dem dang Coyotes, ya just never know when one's gonna show up. Do you have a Coyote Season or Problem in VA? it's a Blast to take Coyotes with a MLer.
This is also great practice for Deer Season and helps you stay sharp in your shooting. If you can take a Coyote at long range a Deer will be a piece of cake, even the shorter shots are fun. Also during the Summer I go after Woodchucks with My MLer, that's even a little tougher, it helps in keeping My Wood Stacked Neatly and from them Dang Wood Chucks from Chucking My Wood!
Deer Season ending should never be an excuse to put away your MLer

Two of my guns are clean and in semi storage condition: Two others are clean and loaded. At least one of my muzzleloaders is loaded at all times.

It is continuous open season on yotes in VA. Had one around the house several times a couple summers ago but haven't seen them since. Would love to get one with a BP gun as the only one I ever got was with my 30-06 while deer hunting.

I'm not cleaning my guns just yet. This weekend is the last weekend of firearms seasons. 2-day hunt January 7th-8th.

Mine are cleaned and put away until at least March. It's too cold to enjoy shooting right now. Not to mention the 12+ inches of snow on the ground make walking back and forth to the backstop a lot of work. But once March or April rolls around I get the itch to get out and shoot some more.

I keep shooting the muzzle loaders all year long. Why I remember one year it was near zero and below with 20 some inches of snow on the ground during deer season. another year the first week was in the plus 70F area for nearly the first week of deer season.
Also with a muzzle loaders handy you can always count on having it handy in case it is needed to dispatch a sno snake or one of those pesty youtes.
Sno snakes are all the time laying in wait for the unexpected who are about in the woods this time of year.
