Default January 2011 Project

Well things have slowed way down on MK project... so today sitting around loading shotgun shells and watching football I cam up with my next little project...

I have totally been ignoring the Triumph - can not even remember when I might have shot it last. It is kinda a boring gun once I got it tuned in. It just plane shoots everything well and is really clean. I could not find a real challenge with the gun to hold my interest once I JB'ed the bore and got it accepting the bullets that I want to shoot.

Yesterday, in the mail I got a surprise, somebody listened to my pleading about the thought i would love to modify a Accura QPBP... So they sent me one. First thing I checked, after reading R. Laughlin's experiance was the nose of the plug. It arrived fine, it was packed and protected well.

Then since I was going to modifiy that plug i thought what the heck - let's get the Triumph Speed Breech modified at the same time - the go shoot some BH from it. I never have had a problem shooting BH from the gun but I really want to improve the gas movement in the plug, especially as long as it is.

If I had an Accura I would do the same from it also... Testing is always a good excuse to burn powder.... I just hate burning BH.

Anyway here is a picture of the project at the beginning....

When I move this porject to the shop - i will get some pictures of the steps for both plugs and then hopefully be able to show some good results....

Oh! Excuse the mess in the background - I will get it cleaned up sooner than later - I hope...

but you cant decide which pattern to go with? LOL

I was looking at some places and noticed they offered walnut pattern. I wonder how that'd look.

Oh I know what pattern I would use - Winter Camo - just not sure I want to invest in it on this rifle yet. I am going to get two more Knight stocks done here pretty soon...

Yea I really wish you had a ACCURA V2 to play with. It'll be interesting to see what you come up with on the QRBP of the V2. I was so excited when CVA was comming out with the QRBP that I could'nt wait to get My hands on the new V2, but that feeling came and went when I saw the looks of the new V2, I just did'nt like the Rubber on the Stock and My V1's were shooting so good that I passed on the idea.
I dont use BH and Im in no hurry to remove the older style BP from the V1 so those were my main reason not to buy, also the blowback is'nt that bad to justify getting the new V2 over the V1. But I do like the reasoning behind the V2's QRBP like that of the Triumph's, now to get the V2"s BP to preform like that of the Triumph's......go get em Mike! And Ya the Triumph's Stock does need one of them Camo Jobs from your Buddy.
