Default Had a great hunt this morning with lots of success...

I have not seen a deer in several weeks now. Barely saw any deer this year at all. Got one with a rifle in late November though, so that will have to do. Season runs out this Saturday and I had really hoped to get one with the smokepole. Oh well. This morning I decided to try a different tactic. I broke out the shotgun and got after the tree climbing rats. I know this isn't deer or blackpowder, but since I have been hanging out here a lot lately, thought I would post.

To keep it on topic, anyone ever use a blackpowder shotgun? Tough to get a follow up shot with isn't it?

Thanks for the post. Those aren't as big as Deer, but a lot of fun to shoot.

I have'nt Hunted Squirrels (Fox or Grey) in awhile now, I found a better reason not to. I let them clean up all the Dang Black Walnuts from My Black Walnut Trees in My Yard.
But Red Squirrels are another thing, I Hate Dem Buggers! They Destroy EVERYTHING!
Nice Going!

Don't feel too bad about not seeing deer. I've hunted all this week and haven't seen a hair yet either. More coyote tracks than deer tracks in the snow. Been out every morning and evening in different locations since Monday.
Oh, I know where there are a couple doe hanging around but that's my little honey hole and is reserved for archery. I let those old girls draw in the buck for me. They are my live decoys.

congratulations on the squirrels. I hunt with a black powder shotgun when I get the chance and the desire. You might only get one shot, but if you make it count if really is a kick.
