Sight in for your circumstances. But as an example, I run 130gr pyrodex RS and go 3" high at 100; translates to about 5" low or so at 200. Gets the job done near and far just fine for me.

I don not shoot pointy bullets very often, but here is a ballistic table shooting a 250 SST with 100 grains of loose T7.

It is based on a 3" 'Point Blank Range' - so it at 100 yards it is about 2.5" high.

Remember this is just a mathematical estimate until you shoot it you do not know for sure.

Depends on how far out you plan on shooting. I usually either sight in to be dead on at 100 yards, or if I might have the chance for a long range shot, 2" high at 100. Sighting in 3" high at 100 yards is fine, you just need to remember you are hitting high and not aim high. I was a shotgun slug hunter for years, and with slugs my instincts tell me to aim high for a 100 yard shot. But that's just me...

2" High at 50yds will do the job in most cases. If you shoot from 0-175 yds all you have to do is hold dead center lungs and you'll be in the kill zone.
