Oh well.I just ordered the GM 21" x 1" .50 cal. LRH Carbine Percusion barrel with a 1:28 fast twist for my $30.00 Renegade.I felt the .54 was too expensive so I just stuck with the the old .50 cal. That makes it a total of $163.00 invested.
That will be a great rifle. I have that same barrel in flintlock on a Hawkins. 85 grains of Goex 3f and a 250 grain XTP and a black harvester sabot and it will amaze you.

I have to admit the shortness of the barrel worries me a bit, but it is classified by Green Mountain as a Long Range Hunter, and the price was right. I hope that means what it says. I've read a lot of posts about the LRH barrels and they all appeared to be good. cayugad, is your's the 21" model also? And are you happy with it's long range performance?
I wouldn't worry about it being only 21". I betting that will flat out shoot within most peoples ability. I have 2 short GM made 54s that are great shooters.
Im not a traditional fan but at that price, i would have done the same thing and bought the GM 21" 50cal. IMO you will have an awesome like new shooter for a fraction of the cost of new.
The first DISCs were GMs with only 24" overall and less once you figure in BP length. Most people agree they were one of the best DISC based shooters Knight ever sold.
