TC BC Triumph - anyone shooting more than 100gr by volume of bh209
I am curious to know if any of you Triumph hunters are using more than 100 grains by voume of bh209 for bullets of 250-300grain in your triumphs? Seems like just about everyone uses 90 or 100. Let me know. Thanks.
my triumph started to turn on accuracy wise at 100g vol. with BH209 or T7-2F.it got a little better using 110g vol. and stayed the same @ 120g vol.my hunting load for deer is 110g vol.BH209-250g sst sitting in a harvester short black sabot ignited with win.209 primer(blue box)i have also had good target results using 200g .40 bullets(xtp, sst, lehigh)using the blue MMP sabots also with 110g BH209..........karl
I use 120 gr BH on a number of loads 110 on most of the rest only on the conicals do I go below that. I shoot the loads that are most consistently accurate at long range. The Triumph and the Endeavor like heavy loads the Omega like 90 and 100 gr loads.
I was shooting 120 of BH pushing a 300 grain XTP mag yesterday at the farm - worked very well.
For yourself just getting started - I would suggest starting in the 90/100 area and get use to shooting before you make the jump to the higher volumns.

Keep on Shooting Muzzleloaders they are a Blast
Just about everyone out west here in cali shoots 110 gr 777 or BH out of the triumph. 110 seems to be the magic number.110 gr 777 with my triumph works excellent with the .250 TEZ and the .250 gr gold dot.when your sighting that triumph in hold on to it, there lite and tend to jump lol.
Thanks guys. Appreciate the feedback. My next range session will be the finale before the two week muzzleloader season. Just rying to get my ducks in a row (or somewhat in agroup - kinda like herding cats at the moment )
