Default Bang Flop Sow-225 Gr Barnes XPB

Was sitting in a tree stand long after sunset when i saw 8-10 grown hogs coming in. For some reason they would not approach the feeder: They may have winded me. Aimed at a black and white sow: Just then one of the hogs made the low "woof" warning sound and they started to scatter. i immediately fired, only to see a black and white sow leave the area at high speed. Thought that i had missed or wounded that hog. Started looking for a possible wounded hog.

The nephew of the landowner heard the shot and drove over with his friend while i was looking for a wounded hog. We looked together briefly and then i looked down over the bank. There lay my pig right right where it was when i fired. It was a bang flop.

The bullet entered behind the shoulder and exited just behind the offside ear. The guys needed a pig for a roast and they got a nice fat one.

Will shoot a few more hogs with this bullet and then try the 280 grain Harvester hard cast.

The cell phone photo is bad but you can tell that its a hog.

Distance: 80 yards

Scope: Weaver Grand Slam 3X10X40 set on 4X
Powder: 100 grains of 3F Pinnacle
Bullet: Barnes 225 grain XPB in crush rib sabot

Pork on the ground, pork on the ground.
Looking like a hunter with your pork on the ground.

Way to go falcon.

Only you can combine pop culture with a stinky hog.

Looks good falcon. Is there any diffrent between the XPB and the "Expander"? I must say, I really like being able to buy in bulk.

How big do them hogs get?

How much meat comes off them on average?

The average weight of a sow is around 100-120 pounds. The average weight of a boar is around 150 pounds.

You will get about 55 pounds of meat off of a 100 pound hog.
