Default Couldn't take it anymore

As rain turned to snow here this p.m. just knowing the deer would be moving on this first day of ML season made it impossible to stay focused on the tasks at hand so, at 2:00 I decided to slip into my stand for the first time since opening day of rifle season here.
Well, I didn't count on the deer being camped out underneath it, but there they were 8 doe-1 of which was BIG!
So I stopped in my tracks next to a triple birch tree to see what would happen. As luck would have it, the wind shifted and the girls must have caught a whiff of me after a while as they stood and single file, no flags, moved off across & upslope.
While I did have 2 of them in my sights at @ 75 yards or so , I just wasn't 100% confident of the shot so they walked. I had scouted quickly Saturday so I knew they were bedding in the area but just not when-now I know! Great to be out AND in the right place even if not at the right time.

Good call 3seasons. It's always better to regret not getting the shot you wanted than to regret the shot you took.

Boy things sure are different from one side of NY to the other! Today where I live we had 12 Degrees with Wind and Snow, Minus Zero Wind Chills for our Late ML Opener. It's always good to pass if your not 100% Sure, there will be another Day and another shot. Good things come to those who wait.
Good Luck from the other end of NY

If you're not sure, you did the right thing. Next time will be different.
