That is a nice sized doe. Looks like a real good eating deer there. Congratulations. Also that .58 looks like it put a heck of a hole through that thing. No wonder it ran 6 feet.
On your deer, it looks almost like you hit a little far back but if it ran 6 feet we know that was not the case. That ball must have really made a mess of the inside of that deer to put her down like that. Other then a few holes through the ribs, you lost really nothing.

That's always my plan. I hate busting up the shoulders. She was angled slightly away and I tried to place the shot so the exit would be just behind the off-side shoulder. I got it two or three inches farther back than I would have liked, but it did the job just fine. The time elapse between the shot and her last breath was about ten seconds.
She was 4 & 1/2 years old and dry. Hanging out with another doe that had a yearling with her. If she had a baby this year the coyotes must have gotten it.

Nice job there! That round ball sure did the trick.

does it ever stop snowing in Ontario johnnyo? It is about the same in Northern Wis.
That roundball really did do a number. I was looking at the wood dowel and trying to think of the organs that ball took out. Must have been a lot of energy when that big ball hit. I shoot a .570 out of mine. Also I shoot 110 grains or Goex 2f. And from range tests those rifles hit like a freight train. Lots of down range power and penetration.
Again, nice job there Semi. Its nice to take an older childless doe out of the herd as they really do no good to the herd other then to boss all the smaller ones around. You know, I hate to watch a bossy old doe with small ones around. The way they kick and body slam the smaller ones.

Good job semi, nice looking doe to. I have never shot a 58 cal before, was it difficult to come up with a good shooting load for it? Again congratulations.
