Default Let it SNOW

Well after receiving (in some places) over 32"+ inches of Snow a few day's ago were in for another Blast of it. 10"-20" inches of more Snow is expected tonight through tomorrow night with Blizzard Conditions and Wind.
Did you all see the News of the last Lake Effect Storm we had the other day, People were stranded on the Thruway for almost 20 Hours!
I know one thing the Deer cant move in it let alone us Hunt in it. My Standards are going to go way down now as to Filling the Freezer, any ol Buck for My Regular Season Deer Tag will do then I have My Late MLer Buck Tag and 3 Doe Tags still so you have to take what Mother Nature dishes out.
If you never experienced a good old Lake Effect Snow Storm than your really missing out on one of Mother Nature's Bad Day's.

Im with you BP. Sometimes we have to take what nature gives us to balance nature.

Plus, meat is sweet if it is a deer treat.

I talked to a person that runs the snow plows and to the mail carrier, and some neighbors. No one has been seeing deer anymore since the storms came.

I am under Lake Superior and we have had snow the last couple days straight. That Arctic cold is coming out of the north, crossing Lake Superior which is still warmer then the lake. So it has been picking up lake moisture and then dumping it on us. Nothing like what you are getting though. Although it is sure cold here.

Good thing I put up over 45 face cord of wood this summer and fall. As with the cold temperatures I am going through a little of it. But the house is nice and warm and that is what counts.

Stay warm and safe. If you get no venison this year, there will be that many more for next year.

Cayugad, I'm afraid I'm going to have to report you to Al Gore. It seems YOU are the true source of global warming. (But Al will be happy to sell you some carbon credits.)

I like my house to stay around 75šs so it take a little work. Also I hate paying for fuel oil. Besides, wood heat is such a nice heat and I get to watch the fire in the stove. To this day I have no understanding of why I can sit in front of that glass door stove, cup of coffee in hand, and watch that fire in there. Besides, I have a catalytic wood stove. They burn up a lot of their own smoke. And they heat a lot longer too.

Breechplug must run a couple stoves to keep warm. Although with all that snow, you pile it along and against the side of the house and it insulates the house as well as keeps the ground frost from going real deep. Means less frozen water pipes. So snow (as I tell everyone) is a good thing.

Breechplug you just going to cut trenches and then throw plywood over the tops and walk through the snow tunnels..

That's a Nice looking bunch of wood Dave, I too spend a little here and there throughout the Summer getting My Wood Ready, usually the dang winds will knock down a few trees in My Woods over the Winter then I cut up them and the other's. I try and stay ahead of the game and a well Insulated Home Helps when the Temps are in the Minus Zero's and Wind Chills get down to around -50 Below Zero. I wish I could pull of few of you Southern Boy's or one's from say Cal and AZ out here to experience what Real COLD can be like. My Brother in Law Married a True Southern Girl and She had never seen Snow and wanted to come here to see it, so last winter they came. His poor Wife Frooze her Butt off and vowed to never come here again, I just Laughed at Her.
Yea Dave I awoke to More Snow and Wind, Im sitting here now and it's 5am and the Snow Plows already been by the House 2 times already, My Cousin Plows for the Town. Im dreading Today's Hunt, but deep down I Love it and Im sure by Mid Febuary I'll be sick of it and Dreaming of Walleye Fishing on Lake Erie this Spring.
Stay Warm!
