Default help?

I know this is out of forum but almost everyone has one on at least one of the muzzleloaders they own.I was hopeing someone could tell me what the screw is for on the zoom ring on a Tasco 3x9x50 scope is for.

Im pretty sure it's to keep the zoom ring snug and not too lose.

It appears to be a locking screw for the ring so it will not rotate. See the image on the right. I did not see anything in my manual so I never touched it.

Yep,like an idiot I touched mine.After it was all sighted in.I fifured it was to loosen or tighten the ring but the little I moved it didn't seem to affect the tightness of it.I'm hoping I didn't affect my point of impact.
