Nice work. Just be careful they don't break and splinter!

That is innovative! These are for everyday or show?
A buddy of mine, boatbuilder, made me a rod once from a dowel, wrapped in fiberglass matting (think barbershop pole) and epoxied as he did his boat hulls. Went w/ the rifle when sold but it worked well-had no end caps though.

Those are neat Corey.

I've done one like that myself for a functional loading rod for my .54 ball rifles. If you want to take it an extra step or two, you can mount the shell casing in an electric drill and remove the case head with a file while spinning the case. Also, you can knock the spent primer out and drill and tap the flash hole for 10-32 threads to allow you to put a jag or brush on the end. Secure the casing to the rod with epoxy.

semi,

those cases are so tight I don't know if I can get them off lol. but I may be able to get them to smooth out. I don't have an tap and die set yet. more and more I get into making stuff, I am finding I need tools.

yard sales and garage sales are good places to pick up some tools cheap and you don't usually have to buy a whole set.

I don't really have time to get to any yard sales. most likely get the stuff from harbor fright. either order or have my father in law pick it up out of one of the stores
