Default Took a new shooter out today

After the Thanksgiving hunt for nephew went on, he and his friend came back home with me for the weekend for some fun. Took them camping friday night and saturday afternoon i took his friend out with the Accura V2 and the 245gr powerbelts and 100gr blackhorn209.

We had to figure out which way he shot best with. Hes left eye dominate but shoots best with his right eye, so once we got that figured i decided to take a few shots myself.

Surprisingly he watched me like a hawk and on his next turn, i noticed him holding the forearm like i do, waited a few minutes in between shots and what REALLY shocked the heck out of me, he picked up on how i just use my thumbs to seat the bullet! I saw that and was like, holy crap this kid is one that actually pays attention! He was even using the drill bit to clean the flash channel like i was doing between each shot

His first Two shots were PERFECT but once we walked down range to see what happened " unsure where shot #2 went at the time" he got pretty darned excited. He said some words a 15 year old probably shouldnt have said but hell, hes young and when you shoot a muzzle loader for the first time and the 2 shots are touching, Its ok in my book.

Once we got back to the rifle " he actually beat me back to it!" He already was removing the plug and running the drill bit to clean out the flash channel again. Poured the powder, seated the bullet with 2 thumbs and got it set up on my Sled.

He pulled shot #3 but thats what i figured would happen. I do the same when i am excited about how well the group is going LOL.
Kids man! I put the scope covers on and turn around to get the camera and i hear, Oh cool! Its yellow with the covers on.

that is some good shooting there.. looks like he's a natural. That is great of you to take him out and give him the opportunity.
