Default MMP & Harvester Gn. Sabots ?

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between the 2 sabots ? I know the H5044 G is Harvesters & MMP HPH/12 MMP also shows a regular gn. sabot fer .429-.430 bullets

I know the 50's have the step base - but I am not sure the 44 do. I have not got any in the house to look at they are all out in storage area. But I am really thinking the 44's do not have the web.

Do you have some to verify that? cuz i guarantee u I could be wrong...

I got out the gn. sabots & put my reading glasses on went out into the sun. inside where the base of the bullet sits is a small raised step y'all call it. So its the MMP sabots correct ?

The 'step' we are refering to is in the base that is on the powder side. The cup will have 'steps' in it. This was to increase the strength of the base for really heavy charges.

Let me go find some - I think I have some I really do not shoot 44's that much but I believe there are some new in storage.

The MMP 44 green sabots that Ihave do not have a stepped base in the powder cup. If you look very closely in the bottom of the sabot where the bullet sits you might be able to see a small number or letter - almost looks hand done..

Looking at my MMP sabot I would agree with what you have commented on. Further the powder cup is smooth.

MMP on the Left and Harvester on the Right

On a Harvester the cup has a small protrusion right in the middle of the cup and number stamped in the cup.
