Default Foaming Boar Cleaner

Guys,

I can't tell you how elated I was to find foaming boar cleaner while shopping the other day at D#$k's. I thought it was odd to be in the firearms section though. D#%k's don't usually carry stuff for domestic animals.

I thought that was an awful small can to do an entire PIG, but it must be well concentrated. I took it home all excited to try it. The pig didn't seem to mind it, but it didn't create the lather the old stuff did and it didn't leave him shining like usual. That one little can didn't come close to doing the entire boar either. What a let down! Am I using it wrong?

SERIOUSLY,

1. Happy Thanksgiving to ALL !
2. Does the Foaming BORE Cleaner work well when used as directed?

Is it for normal cleaning or special cleaning on barrels that haven't been taken care of?

I bought 4 cans of the Foaming Bore Cleaner from Wal-Mart 2 Seasons ago when it was on makrdown after the Season. Can I sat it cleans better than just plain Soap and Water, no I cant.
Even after I spray it into the Barrel and leave it set for the reccommended time I still have to give the Bore a Brush or two to get it clean. So to me it's just a way to spend more money than you have to. Also be careful when spraying it into the Barrel, if you give it more than just a little shot it goes everywhere and makes a mess.
So now I just use it for my Breechplug, I put it in a dish and spray it on and leave it soak while Im cleaning the rest of My MLer, or if Im not gonna clean My MLer right away when I get home I'll take of the Barrel and give it a shot to soak untill later that night when I clean it, usually an hour or so later.
I think I spent about $20 on the 4 cans and I could have got a-lot of Dawn Dish Soap for that amount and it would have lasted a long time. And it is nothing Special, as you asked if it's for Normal or Bores that are in need of Special Care, it's just for normal cleaning.
Good Luck(BP)

Sure could have used the foaming deer cleaner a couple of days ago. Too bad i didn't know about it. I knelt in the snow whilst cleaning the deer, and got soaken wet. Plus, i got blood on my jeans, and my shirt sleeves.

Giving thanks that the next deer i kill, won't be as messy, because of the foaming deer cleaner

Hoosier Hunter, I think you misunderstood the label. That product is only for cleaning foaming boars (though it works equally well of foaming sows). If the boar is not foaming when you shoot it, the product doesn't work at all. The recommended method is to chase the boar in circles until he heats up and begins to foam before you shoot him.

I tried one can of foaming bore cleaner (I forget the brand I think it was by CVA) and it was nothing special. I used it as directed. After it was done, I put some Birchwood Casey #77 on a patch, swabbed the bore and it came up dirty.

A real cheap cleaner that really works and if you get it don't let the better half get their hands on it or they take it away.. is called Simple Green. That stuff really cleans fouling. Actually it cleans about anything you like. I purchase it by the gallon. It will even clean the soot off the inside glass of my wood stove and believe me, that stuff is hard to get off.

Sorry about that Breechplug. Not unusual though. Women often lose control of some faculty when confronted with my thoughts. For example, my wife seems incapable of controlling her sarcasm filter when I expound on the benefits of owning an adequate variety of firearms.
