Default BP Buck

Went out for an afternoon hunt Friday, which was the last day of the regular BP season here in VA before rifle comes in. I was only set-up about 15 minutes when this guy came in. I had to make a quick decision because he was ready to cross a creek and I grunted at him, he stopped, and I squeezed the trigger. 240gr XTP in front of 2 Triple7 pellets and a 70 yard shot out of my Black Diamond did the trick on this 6-p with no brows. He only went about 25 yards. Tons of blood where he lay but no blood trail up to him whatsoever??? Regardless, I was stoked and it was definitelyl nice to field dress a deer in the light for a change!

What an excellent buck you shot there!!!! Did you get a complete pass through with that XTP. If not that might account for the lack of blood trail because the body cavity has to fill with blood first before they start to bleed.

No matter, that XTP really did the job. Great buck, great rifle, great shot. Congratulations.

Congrats on the nice buck. That bullet did a very good job for you.

Yes, complete pass thru. The exit hole was just pumping blood when I picked it up.
