Default close call for my wife last night

She was coming home from work, down I 81, she hit an deer that was already hit, knowing her she was doing around 80mph. comes in the room looks at me and says "Go look at my car, I just hit an deer carcass at full speed".
grab my blood trail light and my regular flash light, went out and checked out. a lot of tissue and blood splatter under the right side wheel area, some scratches. looked up on the window, some tissue.

glad everything is ok, she was a little upset.

Man, that is so dangerous. Deer kill more people than bears and wolves ever will. I'm glad she didn't come to harm.

I am glad to hear she is all right. Cars can be fix or traded. But a good woman is hard to find. Tell her to slow down...

Glad she is alright. I got lucky the other night, same basic thing. Got off duty, rode my Dresser Harley to work, going home at 0100hrs, noticed something in oncoming cars light path in my lane, slowed down to almost stop, full deer carcass in my lane and path!!! If it would not have been for that car coming towards me when it did, I would not have seen that deer till it was too late!!!! Harleys and bambis DON"T mix!!!!!!!!

There was an article in the Minneapolis paper yesterday about a family that had a deer travel through the entire length of their mini van. It said the deer was hit by a vehicle going the opposite direction, bounced off that vehicle and had enough energy to go through the van windshield and out the back window.

Thank God your wife is safe. I have seen dead animals slide under one of the axles and get stuck. It turned my car into a 65 mph hoppy toad.

I live in the country and don't get on my bike until later in the morning hoping that the deer aren't on the road.
