Default OMG....Its a LONG Hunting Season This Year

Its a long season and I still have FOUR more weeks of hunting. As you all know I got my antelope buck 21 days ago. My dad got his 15 days ago. Which I cut up my own meat and family. But two antelope wasn't bad. Last weekend was the start for deer and elk. It was a bust didn't see anything, couldnt even fill my doe tags. Went hunting Friday after work and ending up getting a 4x4 Muley! He was so big that I had to get help to put him in the truck. By the time I got home and had him de-boned it was 11pm. Got up the next morning (Sat) at five and went back to the same place to fill my doe tags with my father. My dad and I both had two does shot withing in 10 mins of shooting light. One hour later I had another doe shot. By 9am had three muley doe's in the truck and on the way home. Got them all de-boned and one processed. Again it was 11pm. Got up a 4am this morning to hit another spot. Within 30 mins of shooting light my dad got his last deer. Deceided to head home with all the deer that needed to be cut up. Its 9:30 and I have another deer processed and the one from this morning de-boned. I have three more deer to cut up this week. I am exhausted. All of my deer (3) was shot with the TC Bone Collector. I have one more doe tag to fill. I hope to fill that on Friday. Take next weekend off and catch up on everything. Then hunt the last three weeks hard for elk. The buck is pretty close to the biggest one I"ve shot. I'm just tired. Still pretty happy with my 300 grain XTP MAG bullets. Here are some pics of the buck. Sorry no pics of bullet penetration was too busy. They were pretty similiar to the antelope that I shot. Sorry that I havn't be on much and it looks like I wont be on for awhile. Hopefully this coming weekend I can catch up. Was kinda all over the place on this post I have everyone can follow

Tired? Tired??

If you're looking for sympathy 50cal, you're not going to get it from me. Sounds like you're having a "fairly good" season. There's a bunch of us out here turning green with envy.

You got a family to feed, that takes precedence to posting here. Congrats on the successful hunt this year.

That's a way to go! Sure is nice to have a lot of tags to fill.

Was up your way the first week of bow season. The boys hunted, and hunted, but couldn't make the shot. Our son killed what he guessed was about 8 year bull on opening day of rifle. No mention of chewing the tenderloins yet. He hunts on the back side of the ski hill.

Hope we don't hear from you for about a month, because you are enjoying the rest of the season, or shortly, because you notched your tag, and are sharing pictures.

Congratulations on all the deer so far. Better luck with an elk. That sure is a nice buck you have there. I think you need a walk in freezer if you keep all this up.

Yeah, my fridge is slowly being emptied out, but now the freezer is beginnig to fill. I usually get about three deer a season. Just not all at once. About two a weekend and then I have the next week to cut them up. Never had this happen with all tags for my dad and mine (minus one) on the same weekend. I don't know what I will do if we get a elk. Probably have to atleast half it and throw it in the freezer and then slowly start working the meat up. I'm down to two deer left for cutting up plus the front legs of the buck I shot. I thought I was going to get a pretty good chuck of meat off him, but I don't know now. Some of the meat was tough and had grissel. So far I have 21 lbs and the legs should produce about 8-10 pounds more. Just figured that I'd have 40lbs of meat instead of 30. The does this year have between 18 lbs and 20 lbs of meat. Most are in the 18 lbs range. I should be all done by Wed. and then this weekend I will make hamburger. With the meat that I'm getting I probably wont go out and fill my last tag. I'll have enough to make it a year. So get to take a break this weekend and get ready for elk hunting. This weekend in MT is suppose to be in the LOW 70's not a good weekend to hunt elk. So it all worked out. Hopefully if my luck is still with me I will be posting elk pics before Thanksgiving. HEHEHEHE
