Help with Traditions Lightning

Friend has a Traditions Lightning bolt action inline. He has been told that he can't shoot Black Horn 209 powder in this gun, but has not been told why. His breech plug has a slotted primer holder. Is there a different breech plug that he can use or a conversion that can be done?

those slotted plugs let way to much flame out.

Go to the traditions website, i think they have a thunderdome breech plug that is one piece and should work good.
