Talking 25 more days till BP deer season

I have been out with the bow twice now and had deer in range both times but no shot. Had I been out with the BP rifle, I would have deer in the freezer. I cannot wait until BP season starts.

Good luck with the bow and the black powder. Patience is the key to hunting. If the shot never presents itself, it just was not meant to happen. I am sure you will be getting your chance real soon. Shoot a big one.

Maryland's BP season opens on Oct 21 and I know how you feel. I missed one with my cross bow at 5 yards. LOL. TOO close I guess. I did have 2 hairs stuck under one of the feathers though. I could have shot plenty with my muzzy by now.

I am near Roanoke.

I was out again last night and had another doe in close but no shot with the bow. This one would have been tough to get with a gun as there was a lot of brush in the way. I am trying to stay positive as I have been in the woods 3 times and seen deer each time, just can't get the shot. All does though, no bucks. But I like to get something, anything and don't worry too much about rack hunting. Not that I wouldn't take a big rack.
