Default Making Preparation

Hunting season for antlerless either specie starts in a week, so it seemed one should start gettin' ready. Grabbed the gun, powder and bullets, and headed for the hills. Also took a window rest that was built with the coming winter in mind. The plan is to use the rest to shoot from the cabin of the truck when the weather outside turns frightful.

The rest seemed to work OK, and i was able to punch the target placed at 100 yard, using my scoped Triumph loaded with 105g BH209, ignited by a W209 primer pushing a 270g Gold Dot in a crush rib sabot.

Well as long as it works.. in Wisconsin you have to have a special disability permit to shoot from a vehicle. That is a cool idea. Would be nice to sit in a toasty warm vehicle on the below zero mornings.

Yup - same here in Michigan. Only disabled hunters with a special use permit can hunt from a vehicle - even one that's not moving.
And that also applies to 4-wheelers, etc.

Pretty cool window rest, though. There have been plenty of times in my hunting days that it would have been nice to be able to do that.

Don't plan to use the window rest hunting; it is illegal here. Will use it this coming winter for 'testing'.
