Default Sportsman's Guide 50cal Knight Vision

After spending a lot of time with my Knight 52cal and the new .458 Lehigh bullets i decided to try those same bullets out in one of my 50cal Knight Vision's.

The first bullet out of the gate was one of my new favorites. The .458 220grn bullet. This bullet was made for the 52cal, and after today it's going to be also great in the 50cals. I decided to start with 120grns of BH209 and the orange .458/50 MMP sabot.

I will note this bullet really opened up with 130grns of BH209. It really liked 120grns.

The next bullet up was the .458 300grn Lehigh. It shot pretty good as well. I actually think it would shoot better with .452 harvester sabot.

Looks like that should work...

I am really toying with the thought of ordering some of those Lehigh 458/220's but I just can not figure out why....

I keep thinking in my mind if I were going to hunt with a 200 grain bullet I would just get a 45 and use the 40/200 - but then again if you have a 1/28 twist fifity and want to shoot a 200 class bullet for Whitetail - that certainly might be the way to go.

When I was shooting the other day I do not think I would have any problem getting them to 2200 fps with a 120 grain load...

Default Question

If the 50 cal. 245 grain Powerbelt Aero Tip bullet ballistics state that when zeroed at 150 yards with two 50 grain Pyrodex pellets it will be 3" high at 100 yards, does that mean that if it is zeroed at 100 yards it will be 3" low at 150 yards?

I would much rather use a 45cal Elite and a 200grn Lehigh. I wanted to do something different this year so i'm using the 52cal. I will send you a few of those 220grn to shoot some squirrels with. I dont see a need for you with these bullets either. But, i bet this .458 220grn bullet would drop one of those cows you seen.

Sabotloader, that rest is in normal position for me. What do you think? More towards the trigger with heavier bullets?

When I first looked at the pictures - that is exactly what I thought - but then I decided you were just taking a picture...

How many screws hold the forearm on the gun? Can not remember for sure...

But in my case I would have it back durther - especially behind the forearm screw....

One thing to remember when you are shooting off-hand in the woods you do not put the pressure on the forearm that you do when shooting off a bench rest...
