Default breech plug threads in barrel

How do you guys clean the breech plug threads in your barrels? I used to use soap and water to clean my smoke poles and it got this are pretty clean, but now that I shoot blackhorn I find it hard to get this area clean. With my accura I can get a patch and q-tips and kind of get them clean but with my knight it is close to impossible to get a q-tip down there. I have a plastic thread chaser that fits my knight but it doesn't do that great. The worst part is the lip where the breech plug ends and the barrel starts. What do you guys do?

Does that ever get yours 100% clean though? It always seems like there is more down there

I use a breech plug brush. I wrap thin cotton around the brush, put solvent on the cotton (old T shirts work good), then push up to the treads and start to turn it clock wise through the threads, then counter clock wise it back out. It will clean the thread and even the back face real good that way.

.54cal bore brush in all of my 50cals. The .54 brush fits the breech plug thread hole perfectly.
