Default New toy bought today Knight Disc Master Hunter Series II how are they?

Guys,
new to the Knights muzzleloaders I sold my T/C Encore Pro hunter last year due to a money crunch so need a new gun for hunting. I tried to find out as much as I could on this model it seemed like a fair price and according to the guy was only shot a few dozen times.

Did I make a smart purchase or did I waste my Money?

Any hiccups about this model need to know about?

Looking fwd to your replies.

Well it is kind of late to wonder whether or not you purchased a good rifle. But you did. Actually you purchased a great rifle. Probably one of the best rifles Knight ever made. They had a guaranteed out of the box accuracy and life time warranty.

I am positive that your new rifle will shoot as well or better then your old one. Good luck with your rifle. It is a beauty.

I know I had been watching it for a few days and thought it was a good buy but then just seen where Knight is out of business but according to there website they where bought out by another company in March so looks like they will be making a comeback?

Sure is a beauty and the extra stock is a nice bonus. I got lucky and found basically the same black stock for one of mine too.

I have found several loads that work well in my Knight Disc...

1) 300gr Barnes MZ with 100grs of Pyrodex R-S or Goex FFF, with supplied sabots...

2) 250 Hornady SST/TC Shockwave with 90grs Pyodex R-S or 80grs Goex FFF with suppled sabots...

3) 250 Hornady XTP .452, short MMP sabot and 85grs Goex FFF...

4) 300gr Hornady XTP .430 with Harvester green sabots and 80grs of Goex FFF...

I have bounced around and tried alot of different projectiles with my Knight rifles. But now I am back with the heavy conicals-for good. Especially if you want to shoot long range. Just my opinion.

Nice rifle. I have the LRH and would not trade it for anything out there. And I have owned Encore's. You now have a superior rifle. Tom.

Tom,
thanks for the advice I appreciate it. I am very pleased with my purchase. Talking with the people that bought out Knight he said they only made a few thousand of the MHS II rifles and this one was made in 1999 still uses the old orange plastic primer holders no big deal I just bought a 1,000 of them for around $70 so should be good for a while.

I really like the "disc" idea. I can put a few of them in my pocket and pick them out easily in a hunting situation. You will find as I have that the Knight rifles are not finicky like the TC rifles. They wil shoot whatever you put in them. Tom.
