Default Range Report, 20 Jun, 10

Went to Garvin county today to fill the fish feeders. Took along the TC Black Diamond. This is the old model gun with 22 inch barrel.

Gun: TC Black Diamond
Powder: Goex Pinnacle 3F
Primer: CCI musket cap

Bullets: 370 grain Maxi-Ball, 240 Grain .430 XTP, 280 grain
Harvester hard cast flat nose

This gun was sighted in for the 240 grain .430 XTP bullet. i wanted to try the 370 grain Maxi Ball at a distance further than 50 yards. It had rained a lot and the 100 yard and 100 meter lines were in the flooded catchment pond. Set the target up at 75 yards.

Loaded the gun with 70 grains of Goex Pinnacle 3F and the 370 grain Maxi-Ball. Fired a three shot group (1). Group center is four inches below point of aim. Made a bold scope adjustment and fired another three shot group (2). These groups measure about 2".

Swabbed the bore, loaded the gun with 100 grains of Goex Pinnacle 3F along with the 280 grain Harvester hard cast bullet in the crush rib sabot. Fired shots (3) and (4). Adjusted the scope for windage and fired six rounds. Three bullets went through the big hole located at 3 o'clock.

Did not swab the bore. Loaded the gun with 100 grains of Goex Pinnacle 3F and the 240 grain .430 XTP bullet in the crush rib sabot. Fired a three shot group (upper bullseye (6). Point of impact with the 240 grain XTP is just a little higher than the POI of the 280 grain Harvester.

Those Black Diamonds are good shooters. My rifle is not fussy either. They just plain shoot.

Good shooting falcon. I'm getting envious of you guys out there shooting. It's just so darn HOT. But I think I'll give is a go next week end.
