Talking Andrew Jackson & PBS.

Was intresting to learn that old Hickory was the first President that some one attemped to assinate.
Also of intrest was the fact that the percussion caps went off on the pistols but the powder failed to light off in both pistols.

What you think, a cleaning issue?

That's one of my favorite stories- the part afterwards where Andrew Jackson beats down the would-be assassin with his cane. Can you imagine any modern-day president doing that? They sure don't make them like they used to. Apparently they test fired both pistols afterwards and found that both worked perfectly. So it would seem like the big guy upstairs was looking out for Jackson that day...
