Default A&H 420 adj

Hi guy any one shoot an austin hallock rifle ? i got one and what p.o.s having trouble adj the firing pin i tryed all i know and it will missfire then have to move the bolt again then it might fire im using #11 caps any one have the same problem with theres..any tricks out the to adj it ..thinking about wraping it around a tree soon...

I had two of those A&H's and shooting #11's was a crap shoot for me also.

I assume you have the instructions for setting the hammer drop on the #11 nipple and are adjusting it accordingly... One of the things I did was insert a piece of paper on top of the nipple and turn the hammer out till it just touch the paper. If you go to far you will end up peening your nipple... Soeaking of which make sure that your nipple is not peened.

The next thing i did was to find a stronger hammer spring and put that in. Today that might be some what difficult but it could be done.

The newer A&H's did come with a lighter spring than those of the original A&H. The ones built in Mossouri had the strong ger spring those built in Salt Lake had the lighter spring.

Either Randy Wakemann of PR bullets might be able to hlep you with the spring - I eventually just gave up and went to a 209 ignition.
