200 yards with my Optima

Got out to 200 yards on Friday with the Optima.

My load was a 245gr Powerbelt with 100gr Volume Blackhorn209.

Showing the amount of wind we had to our backs,

I was happy with the first group which was 4 3/4".

However, it got a lot better when i allowed the barrel to cool down between each shot! Well all for except one shot, the lowest. The dummy behind the trigger didnt allow it to cool down properly. The next shot however clipped the very first shot! That shows great promise in this Optima.

This is what she is capable of at 200 yards. The Thors should shoot much tighter.

This friday if the weather is going to be clear, i'll head back out to the NRA for another weekend of shooting 200 yards.
And this time, this bad boy goes with me!

That's actually really good for the bullet you are using. Those PB'S got really poor BC'S.

Sighted dead on @ 100 yards, this load dropped 13" So you figure 10" with a 3" high sight in @ 100. Not bad, i can handle that in the field. We'll see how she does the next time out. I may have to resight in once i get onto the caldwell rest.
