Default Lets see your most exotic...

...animal killed with a flinter. I'm new to the game so I've yet to hunt with mine. (Can't wait till fall!) Otherwise, I'd start us off.

Well if you call whitetails and groundhogs 'exotic' then count me in.

My first turkey was killed with a .45 caliber flintlock loaded with 50grs of FFF Goex and a .440 patched ball...I called him in with a wingbone turkey call that I made, this was in 1979...

I don't have a picture of the turkey but here is the rifle...When I made my .54 I converted it to a .40, which is a more proper small game caliber...

Here it is. Next time I'll pressure cook the meat. It was a little tough, but had nice flavor.

Seriously though, congrats on the 'smoked' turkey. That would be awesome!

Called him in with a handmade call huh? Great lookin' gun too! I like hearing about/seeing any game taken with the flinters. Shouldn't have used the word "exotic" I guess...just wanted to see/hear about various game taken...any others?

I have only take deer as far as game, with my flinter. A lot of paper has fallen to the rifles, but we can not hunt any kind of bird with ball. I also shoot a couple red squirrels with the flintlock just to see if I could hit them nasty little monsters.
