Default Thor II - Black Thor

Got a small sample of these in to look over and try out in my rifles.

These are in the .504- .505" DIA area.

I dumped 100gr BH209 down the Accura's bore and loaded up a Black Thor. I could get it down easy until i hit the rifling and then i used the Rotoloader 5 in 1 to give it a bit of a smack and down it went. These seem to load easier with the Graphite on the bullet.

First a flat tire (shredded) and now we have to go see why the car wont start. Tomorrow i pick my girl friend up at the airport.... Not sure when the hell i am going to have time to fire that simple load off

Once i try it at 50 i will adjust the scope and take it out to 100 yards and see how they group.

This should be a good "Fits Most" Thor bullet and the user wont have to worry about figuring out the size of his bore.

I assume those are 250 gr since they have the tips? I am hoping he starts putting the tips in the 300 gr. Know of any plans to do this?

They remind me of Hornaday FPB bullets. What type of base do they have MD? Are they flat or hollowed out like a miniball?

Yep, miniball type rear, like the FPB. Here is a link with a picture of the rear. But he is evidently redesigning them to have a bigger rear secion (over bore) that can be custom fitted to your barrel.

This is the first I have heard of this bullet. It sounds interesting. I like the idea of the 250 gr and 300 gr bullets. I currently shoot the 350 gr. FPB bullet in my Knight Vision with BH 209 powder and am getting fantastic results.

I would be interested in testing some of these bullets in my Knight. I also like the idea of three differeent size diameters. Does Terry have any plans to work up a .54 cal. bullet in this configuration?

Now I guess I should go and measure my bore. Thanks!

I have the sample pack although I have not used them yet. Just curious; none of mine are black on the bottom third like that. Is that something new, if so what is it? I just reread your first post, did you put the graphite on the bullets and how does heat affect graphite in a barrel?
