Default Blackhorn is in

My BH209 came in USP just about 5 minutes ago. Its snowing right now

But thats not stopping me! As soon as i get the scope on the Accura, i am going out with some 245gr powerbelts and taking a few shots just for the hell of it.

LOL, I love that powder. Makes clean a breeze and you don't have to swab inbetween shots. I've shot 25 times in a row and still kept my accuracy.

wow god must have said. MD is shootin blackhorn! Hurry! Break those clouds apart and stop the snow!

It stopped snowing after i got my boots on LOL.

Excellent ignition in the Accura, i shot 270gr Platinums in stead with 70gr bh209 (weight) and the cci 209m primers. Zero blowby inside the frame.

Going out again with 3 more shots. Im only shooting 50 yards. but tomorrow will be another story.

First group with the 270gr platinums @ 50 yards. Highest shot was my last shot. I was pretty excited and shakey * still am!! LOL * i get excited very easily so.......

Next round after 3 clicks up and 3 to the right with the 295gr Aerotip powerbelts.

I did not notice any smoke from this powder which was kind of cool. Has just a small amount of "eggy" odor. Almost like smokeless but a thicker smell to it.

Question: Is it common for the QLA area to gather this much soot? Granted it was damp outside due to the snow and then the sun coming out.

That is pretty much how my Omega looks after shooting BH. Looks the same on my knight LRH as well.

granted it was only 6 shots, the 7/64" drill bit went through the BP flash channel with no resistance at all. No carbon to clean out surprisingly. Looked through the BP hole and into the bore, That sucker is still shining like a mirror!

I wont clean the rifle, im going to shoot in either tomorrow or somewhere around there. I did run a couple paper towel patches to mop up any moisture in the bore due to it being out in the cold and then brought into the warm house.

Mountain Devil,

How do you like those 270 gr. Platinum bullets? Do they hold together better than a regular power belt? Can you push them harder? You were using 70 gr. (Weight) of BH209. Thats 100 gr. by volume right? Do you think you could push them any harder?

shulion the Platinums are a little better. They are really darn good when you get up to the 338 platinum, that suckers like the 444 FP powerbelt. The 270 though is a stronger bullet than the 295 copper series though. I will have to redo my powerbelt max load texts and work up a scale with blackhorn.

I recovered some 444 FH 54 cal I shot out of my Lyman Deerstalker with 80 gr of Shockley gold. The were removed from oak wood bounced through my wood pile. There was no deformation at all they would have made one big round hole through a critter. I also recovered some 50 cal 350 gr. HP remington no deformation there either.
