Default cabels sportized carbine

Well got it today and all i can say is what a nice rifle..its going to take some time to get use to the short barrel,i bet she going to spit fire

That should be a good shooter. How long is the barrel on that rifle?

We'll be awaiting a report on the first range session Jeep. What loads are you planning to start with?

I know what you mean about short muzzle loaders. After shooting the Renegades or Great Plains a while, when I pick up my little X7 it feels like a toy.

ITS 21 inchs i think with 90gr bp about dusk time will be a nice show
maybe i will wear some shades.....lol

I know a few guys that bought Cabela's Sporterized Hawkens about 15 years ago. At the time, they were made or imported by a company called Sile. They had a chrome-lined bore, and they were pretty short. Probably the same length as yours.

They were a nice gun as I recall. Seemed to shoot pretty well, but back then we never messed around with loads or bullets much. It was maxiballs and 90 or 100 gr of pyrodex, and that was it.

I have a 21" .50 barrel on my T/C Hawken.
I've found fffg Goex works well in it. I use 80-90 grains behind a 250-300 grain bullet.
