25 apc and blackhorn 209?

dose anyone use this combo and what are your test results.

I had one range session with BH and my Lyman Mustang. The .25 ACP with CCI small pistol mangum primers igniteed BH, but with a delay. I don't think it was lack of power from the ACP primer though, but a problem with design of that particular breech plug, because I tried the stock Lyman plug with CCI 209M primers and it did the same thing.

I planned to modify one of the plugs by enlarging the flame channel and flash hole and trying again, but haven't gotten around to doing that yet because I just can't seem to get excited about Blackhorn.

I shoot a 25acp in my Omega and i have shot a 1/2 jug or so... I do get hang fires with the 25acp and a small rifle primer, but when i switch to small rifle mag primers - they work great but this should not be considered conclusive....

Mike have you considered redesigning an Omega plug with the vent liner set back in proportion to the size of the primer? I can not legally use that ignition system in AR so I have not worked with it. I would keep the thickness of the barrel in the web for safety but it would be an interesting experiment. Lee
