Default Knight LK-II information needed

Ok, I posted this same thread in the wrong section in Tech... Well, my older Brother has come across an Knight LK-II muzzleloader, from a friend, for rock bottom price. I have looked online almost everywhere, and no information, I even ran the serial number. It has a 22" barrel, and has a camo stock. I even ran the serial number, no dice online. I emailed a local gun smith, and awaiting an email back with info. My Brother has a collection with Traditions, CVA, Charles Daly, etc. Muzzleloaders, and wanted to add a few Knights to the collection, but needs information.

thanks

This is also called a Knight Wolverine. If tou go to the company's website you will find the manual online. It is a great little gun. The Lk-93 is the same gun.

I own the same rifle. It has a 1-28 twist. Normally they work off a #11 cap unless someone went through the time and trouble to convert it to a 209 ignition. They have a double safety system with the turn knob on the back of the bolt, and the side safety. To fire the rifle you pull the knob on the back of the bolt straight back until it is locked in place. Now the rifle is c o c k e d. Now you turn the back safety back as far as it will go. Normally there is a red part on the back of the bolt but it wears off with time. Push the side safety forward, cap the #11 nipple and you are set to fire.

Because of the 22 inch barrel it does not handle a lot of powder well, but a lot of powder you will find is not needed. Mine likes 85 grains of powder and a 250 grain Shockwave or Barnes MZ Expander. It is a great little rifle. Especially if you stalk or hunt from trees.

To remove the bolt (and never take the bolt apart) you just unscrew it from the back. With the breech plug tool you take the nipple out and then the breech plug.

The rifle also has a Timney trigger. One of the best on the market. Mine breaks at just over #3 pounds with no creep. Some of them had adjustments on the trigger.

Over all this is an old technology rifle but it is a great rifle. A real meat and potatoes rifle that will serve you well. Be sure to pull the trigger assembly from time to time and spray it clean with brake cleaner then lightly oil it. This gun will last forever if you take care of it. It might not be fancy, but it is a good rifle. I actually own two of them.

I appreciate the information from the reply's. It really gave me alot of information from cayugad and flounder 33. my newphew which is 12, just got a CVA wolf 209 break open, and we sighted it in here yesterday, and shot awesome. my brother, which is the father to my nephew, also brought the older Knight here to our house, to fire it, but wasnt sure as most of his collection is sidelocks. Thanks a bunch guys

Well, I took out the Knight onto our range here at the parents house, only to 100yrd range. shot the knight, and it worked flawless. My brother is stopping in tomorrow afternoon after work, to check it out, and shoot it as well. After we tuned the scope a little, needed to come right, and was perfect up and down, at 50yds. adjusted scope, and I put another one in the dot 2x2 inches big, at 50, shooting flawlessly. i took it apart to clean it, didnt know how on earth it fired, considering the breech plug was completely gunked up with residue, but the rifle shot great, no miss fire after 4 shots, 1 from my Dad and 3 from my shoulder.. Thanks for the information guys, my brother will be thankful

They are a great little rifle. Down load the manual at Knight and it will tell you how to clean the rifle and care for it.

we downloaded the manual and all for it, it shot really solid today when I fired it. good solid shot, and what got me was the breech was that gunked up and all, and still no hesistation on firing 4 shots. I mean my old Traditions side lock is a POS, so I am looking into something different. As for my Brother and the Knight, he is stopping by in the afternoon and checking it out, thanks again for all the help tho
