Thumbs up New CVA Accura & First ML Buck Kill

I just had time to site in my Accura. (Around 7 Shots) Finally seen a small 6 pt buck. It was about a 160 yd shot (distance had been ranged before) and I hit him right where I was aiming.(Vari X1 3-9x40 Scope) It was a double lung shot. I placed the x right on my aiming point. No bullet drop. Shot off the top of a log. Very solid rest. I was using Barnes Spitfire T EZ 290 grain bullet with BH209 120 grain powder. I changed to the Federal 209A primers. It was the first deer I seen and shot at all hunting season.

This is my first deer in over 15 years. I had given up hunting to coach. Sure feels good to be back out with nature.

Thanks for all the great post. I would have never made this shot with this gun & setup without this site.

THANKS AGAIN!

Awesome job! Congrats! That's a very stout load too. The very same load I use except I shoot the 250g T-EZ. You can knock over anything with that load.

Congrats!!

Sounds like another finicky Accura. Great choice of rifle, IMHO.

Congrats on your buck. 160 yards is a pretty good poke, well done.
