Default Youth Hunts

I'd like to thank everyone here who have helped offer advice over the past couple seasons on suggesting bullets, powder charges, etc.

This season I was able to put together a couple muzzleloader set-ups for my young sons, Mathew and Nick (ages 9 & 10) and they really did well with them. Now they are totally addicted to Muzzleloader hunting! They've both told me that is was even more exciting and awesome than they even thought it could be!!!

My youngest son, Mathew, used a T/C Encore Pro Hunter topped with a Nikon Omega BDC scope to tag his first buck on Oct 10. The 250 grain Shockwave at 40 yards put the buck down after a short 40 yard dash! By the time the smoked cleared,... the buck was dead!

My oldest son, Nick, used a T/C Omega topped with a Nikon Monarch scope to shoot his first buck just this past Friday, Nov 20. He was also shooting a 250 gr Shockwave and struck the buck through the shoulders, from only 30 yards, putting him down instantly!

Nicks first buck

I couldn't be more proud of my sons and I couldn't feel more honored that they love to spend time in the outdoors with their Dad... ME! I'm looking very forward to many, many more muzzleloader hunts with them in the future. Thanks again and please remember to take your kids hunting..... it's possibly the best thing you could do for your sport/tradition and your kids.

Thanks again guys and gals!

Those are some good looking deer. Congrats on getting your boys interested early in life. They will likely be hutners for the rest of their lives.

Congratulations to your sons. Those are fine deer they have there. And the memories you made with them will be talked about over and over for many years to come. Looks like you have some good hunting partners.
