Default Powerbelt Inserts for the .45 rolled out today!

Got the mold together where i could start a practice run on the inserts for the.45cal powerbelts. I have one hole that throws a perfect insert while the other 2 need a deeper thread. I'll have to figure that one out tomorrow. I made a bunch in a short time but with those 2 holes being the way they are, i only got 20 of them that were perfect.

Also the Plugs extend slightly outside of the bullet. The other Extender insert is perfect though! That one should work out really well.

All in all, im very pleased with the mold. Time to make some wood slip over handles! Sucker got hot pretty quick.

You can see the problem here with the 2 other holes. The threads are barely visible and just will not work.

The bullet on the Right, you can see its a little messed up, thats my fault as i put it on a steel table rather than a soft cloth or piece of wood and so it chewed up the end a little. Notice that i loaded it with the smooth side DOWN into the cavity.

These tips were made to load either way. If you load the smooth side so its pointing outwards, im thinking that it will allow for the bullet to expand a little better at Long Range, rather than it bonding right if you load it thread first. I was mainly worried about the "Pencil" effect at long range so i decided to give the shooter both styles in One Insert.

If you are shooting 10-50 yards Max in a certain hunting area, I Recommend that you load the smooth side first. On short range shots, you want the hard lead Insert to bond to the soft powerbelt lead ASAP to prevent Fragmentation.

Still have 4 holes left and those will be my .50cal series holes. Why not get them all done at once, right?

Mold drops them nice and easily into the cold pan of water.

so they dont explode/fragment with higher 100grain + powder charges. Its an Anti expansion insert that holds them together at close range.
