Thumbs up First ML CVA Accura with new VX I 3-9x40 Leupold Scope

Just wanted to say thanks for all the great post. I have been reading this site a ton lately. I have been out of hunting for a long time and I am just getting back into it this deer gun season in Michigan. I was going to use a used ML but I went to Gander Mountain to get the scope put on and they had $50 off on the CVA Accura. The price was $329 for the Stainless Begara Barrel with Black Synthetic Stock. I couldn't resist the deal. Plus my son can now ML hunt this year.

I am going to use Blackhorn 209 Powder with the 290 Grain Barnes Spitfire T EZ Bullet. I am hoping they will sight in good for this season.

Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated. I bought all the cleaning materials also.

This is a great site!

I have 2 ACCURA's, the best loads I wored up for them are 105 & 110gr's Pyrodox RS, 240gr XTP Mag and T7 Primers. The ACCURA shooting 105gr's put's a 5 shot 1"group at 100yds, Im still messing with fine tuning the one with 110gr's. Also the ACCURA shooting 105gr's is supplemented with the Leupold Ultimate Slam ML Scope.
Nice choice of equiptment, you should be all set. Sorry I cant help out with the Barnes Spitfire or the Blackhorn 209 as I have tried neither. Best of Luck to you and have a Successful Season!

Congrates on the new accura. I love mine. I have the camo thumbhole stainless barrel. I havent tried many load combinations with mine yet cause the first one shot very well. I tried 110 grains of ffg 777 and a 200 grain shock wave along with a T7 primer which printed 1inch groups at 100 yards. I upped the charge to 120 grains and accuracey was the same so that is my hunting load for the time being.
